The meaning of my blog…

October 4th, 2008

By the way – I forgot to mention, if you do post on my blog, I ask for courteous behavior towards myself and others. You are to no time referre to a person in a negative way or to Tileproxy in a negative way.

If you continue to do so, after I ask you to stop – you will be permanently removed from this site. I will have ways of finding out WHO people are, and will not put up with any of the nonsense that occured on other sites. This site is for those who have an active and honest interest in Tile Proxy and other things related with flight simulation, and will not be in any way a place for negative words, fights, sniping etc….you get the point.

That’s all I have to say on this and will be all I have to say on this…

Well what’s happening

September 25th, 2008

Hey all.

I know you’re wondering, where’s the stuff?

It’s coming soon, and you’ll all be seeing a few of my “tours” online shortly.

I hope you like the effort, for it will be worth checking out.

Several aircraft I now noticed work in FS X from FS 2004 –

Alphasim’s B-2 Spirit Bomber – one of my favorite military jets, work in the FS X with SP1 and Acceleration.

Of course – let’s all fight to keep Tile Proxy alive! There’s a loooooooooong drawn out thing going on at another site that I don’t even want to mention.

Have a good one everyone!

Okay, here we go…….

September 18th, 2008

Well, here we go. It seems that what I’ve been stating on forums about getting along with others in my older Flap’s articles does not seem to be catching on. People continuously attack one another, and It’s getting really childish out there.

I’m just saying there’s one way to treat each other – with respect. We should acknowledge the fact that we all have our own opinions and that everyone should respect that other person’s opinion. Even if you disagree with it, you don’t have to have sly comments or a smug attitude towards that person just because you disagree. I have been trying to be patient with this matter, and I guess it’s time I step in and say, remember the Golden Rule boys and girls, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it? It’ll make the forums a much more happier place.

Anyway, I’m off now to try to figure out how to hook up my Direct TV to the VCR, and hope I can do it with out too much swearing and cursing at the piece of equipment. Nothing’s easy any more, huh? Well, that’s why I like flying with the Sim.

Afterwards, I’m going to do a flight from North Central to Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA and then back to North Central. Nice local hop for the day is great with excellent VFR weather and Low Temps.

Have a good one all, back soon….

Where I’ve been what I’m up to……

September 17th, 2008

Well, it’s been quite a discovery of the prior utility I’ve mentioned, Tile Proxy. I’ve been enjoying flying over the real world so much, that I’ve been devoting alot of time to flight sim, and those of you who are reading can find my screen shot posts at Flightsim.com. Look up Ragtopjohnny for the user name. I’ve flown over many areas of the U.S. now, places I’ve always wanted to go. I’ve been from the Florida Keys up the Coast to Miami, and I’ve flown from Corpus Christi Texas to San Antonio just to name a few. I’ve also been from Utah to Nevada in a plane I know I’d never get to fly in real life, the B-2 Spirit by Alphasimulations. That is my all time favorite military jet.

One thing you’ll notice, is Tile Proxy is unlike nothing we’ve seen before. It will make the sim look 20 times better even Out of the Box. Here’s something that’s fun to try. You can download my real world repaints, and you can then go to Flightaware.com and you can enter the tail number and get a history of the aircraft. That aspect is free, and you can then recreate the real world flight in Flight Simulator. You know what’s even cooler than that? You’ll see what those pilots saw as they flew over. If there’s one thing that EVERY Flight Simmer should try it’s Tile Proxy. I can never imagine going back to default scenery.

If you’re new to flight simulation on the computer, you can go to Microsoft’s Website and check out the Microsoft’s Flight simulator info there, or go to http://www.fsinsider.com and get some more goodies.

Oh, by the way – I’m now a part of Eaglesoft Development Group as a Livery Artist – you can check them out online at http://www.eaglesoftdg.com and see that they make some of the absolute best planes for Flight Simulator X and 2004.

I also do repaints outside of Eaglesoft as well too, for I did the ones available on this site. Oh – I’m also working on a new Project, Nevada Highway Patrol’s Cessna 182 RG II. I’d like to thank Sgt. Tony Sabino for sending me some high quality reference pictures for the aircraft labeling.

Have a good one all, keep the blue side up!

Hello world!

September 17th, 2008

Hey everyone! Welcome to Ragtopjohnny’s flightsim blog. Here you will find news of what’s happening in my life along with what is going on with the flight sim activities I have been up to.

More content coming soon. Two repaints are available. One is of Addison Flyer’s LLC Cessna 182RG model from Carenado, and the other is privately owned by Donald Drazan. Enjoy!

Be back again – oh, by the way, you must be registered to use these blogs and registered access is available for those who come on board!

The site is devoted to flying with Tile Proxy, a great freeware utility that brings the Real World into Flight Simulator, so for the first time, you can actually fly over your OWN house! That’s right – you can now enjoy the real world in flight sim with Global Coverage.
